H2 Green Steel support the Breakthrough Agenda

The Breakthrough Agenda, launched by world leaders at COP26, is an unprecedented international clean technology plan to halve emissions and to deliver clean and affordable technology everywhere by 2030. Over 40 world leaders have backed and signed up to the new Breakthrough Agenda, representing more than 70% of the world’s economy. The first five goals, called the Glasgow Breakthroughs, were set by the UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson and collectively cover more than 50% of global emissions. The goals are:

Power: Clean power is the most affordable and reliable option for all countries to meet their power needs efficiently by 2030.

Road Transport: Zero emission vehicles are the new normal and are accessible, affordable, and sustainable in all regions by 2030.

Steel: Near-zero emission steel is the preferred choice in global markets, with efficient use and near-zero emission steel production established and growing in every region by 2030.

Hydrogen: Affordable renewable and low carbon hydrogen is globally available by 2030.

Agriculture: Climate-resilient, sustainable agriculture is the most attractive and widely adopted option for farmers everywhere by 2030.

By working together and globally aligning our efforts sector-by-sector, we can shift the global economy so that it works for people and for the planet. We can achieve faster innovation, economies of scale, bigger incentives for investment and level the playing field where needed to keep 1.5 degrees within reach.

H2GS is a proud supporter of the Breakthrough Agenda. By bringing high-quality Green Steel to the market and taking a leading position in hydrogen, we will play an important role in achieving the goals of the Agenda, and overall decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries.

Let’s make this the decade of delivery.
